The other day, I went to Target with a friend. I made a beeline for the toy aisle and very quickly realized that I wasn't leaving that store empty-handed. I had initially gone to the aisle with the intent of buying a blind box of sorts. I found the LOL Surprise x Hello Kitty dolls, and I got super excited. But, of course, I looked off to the side and saw the Yummiland lip gloss dolls, which I've been wanting for quite some time now. I've had the bubblegum one in my Amazon cart for a good while, so you'd expect that I would buy that. I did not, in fact, buy it. I decieded to get the LOL Surprise doll. I got the Pompompurin doll, which isn't the one I wanted, but she's still cute! The only thing is, her skintone doesn't really match the tone on her art. She's much mre of a vibrant red-orange than a brown. Very much reminiscent of The Sims 4 base game skintones. It sucks, because her outfit has a lot of browns in it, and her skintone clashes with them. Not only that, but it makes her skin seem quite a bit lighter.
Well, I went home with that doll, and I'm still pleased with that purchase, don't get me wrong, But I just couldnt stop thinking about the Yummiland doll. I found one at Target that I hadn't seen online before. She was based on boba tea, and had the cutest hair and the best little outfit. I love the Yummiland dolls, I think their clothes and faces are just the cutest, and I think they're some of the cutest children's dolls on the market right now. So, I just had to go back and get her. I adore her little bubble braids and jelly shoes. I'm not the biggest fan of the lip gloss gimick, but I can understand why kids like it, and the lip gloss is surprisingly good. The scent for the gloss is really good, but I can't smell the scent on the doll, which is supposed to be scented. I don't mind too much though.
Today I went on an outing to the mall to celebrate a friend's birthday! (Happy Birthday Star!) I way overspent there, but I would say that it was worth it! The trinket that I got was a Sailor Moon compact replica. I've been trying to get my hands on this for forever, so when my friend handed it to me, I knew I just had to have it. It seems to be well made, and is really really pretty! The only thing is, it's pretty heavy for such a small item, and the mirrors inside aren't as good of quality as some of my other compacts. They definitely focused more on replicating the compact from the series than functionality. But that won't stop me! It's still super cute and I'll be using it for sure.
